Spring Sparks and What’s Blooming This March

Spring Sparks at Carousel

Join us on the 31st March

Spring Sparks is our next Creative Seasons pop up, taking place at The Carousel Family Centre. This relaxed, intergenerational session is open to all ages and supported by Vale of White Horse District Council.

We’ll be creating light catchers to take home, while also inviting the community to help shape ideas for a new mural. It’s a chance to drop in, take part and be part of something lasting, with opportunities to share ideas, connect and create together. No experience needed, just come along and join in.

Bloom Pop Ups

Our first Bloom pop up brought a lovely afternoon of shared making, conversation and connection. It was wonderful to see people of all ages coming together, with artists sharing skills and ideas flowing naturally.

Bloom continues to create welcoming outdoor moments where ideas can grow and community connections can bloom.

"The children were so excited to be doing something for free and making something with nature."

Creative Climate Champions

In our school sessions, young people have been exploring single use plastic and re imagining materials. They’ve been thinking about how discarded items can become something new, while beginning to design and re imagine their own clothing.

It’s been inspiring to see ideas develop through experimentation, colour and personal expression.

"It's her favourite thing each month. She hasn't taken her badge off and it has really helped her grow in creative confidence."

Creative Me

Creative Me sessions have been focusing on developing sketch skills, with young people exploring ideas, building confidence in drawing and experimenting with their own creative style.

They’ve also begun creating clothing artwork in preparation for the One Planet fashion show in June. It’s been exciting to see designs evolve from initial sketches into wearable pieces.

We were also joined by special guest Eve, an expert knitter and crocheter who volunteers at the hospital. She generously shared her skills with the group, introducing new techniques and inspiring participants to explore different ways of working with textiles.

Bright Hearts

Our recent Bright Hearts session was filled with thoughtful moments as participants created badges for one another. This simple activity sparked kindness, conversation and a lovely sense of connection across the group.

These gentle, supportive sessions continue to create space for community, encouragement and belonging.

Hospital Sessions

At the hospital, we’ve been creating light and colour with simple seasonal touches. Daffodils and handmade lights brought a bright, uplifting feel, sparking conversations and gentle creative moments with patients and staff.

These small interventions continue to show how shared making can bring calm and connection into everyday environments.

New Website

We’ve recently launched our new website, bringing everything together in one place as the work continues to grow and evolve.

Life Styling has been growing over the past six years, and it felt fitting to allow the work to hold more as new projects and collaborations developed. This has led to the evolution into Life Projects, bringing together artistic practice, community programmes and public art work under one connected umbrella.

Life Styling sits alongside Life Space Project CIC, which delivers community led programmes and collaborative opportunities. The new website brings these strands together, making it easier to explore what’s happening and see how everything connects.

Moments of Joy

Coming soon, Moments of Joy will introduce small creative interventions designed to brighten everyday spaces. These co created pieces will bring colour, connection and a sense of belonging into community locations. More to share soon.

Alongside the programmes, I’ve also been working on some exciting public art ideas as artist and Creative Director. These pieces explore creativity in shared spaces, bringing colour, connection and a sense of belonging into everyday environments.

With warmth and gratitude,

Jess
